Biography

An experienced leader with a proven track record of applying technical and business innovation to create profitable new businesses. Richard is currently heading Equinor’s Nature Based Solutions team. Recent roles in Equinor were leading the establishment of Equinor’s fast growing solar business, and re-establishing Equinor’s Venture Capital unit, where he achieved 1st quartile returns. Richard has previously had senior managment positions both in solar (SVP, Hydro), and oil service (EVP AGR), and prior to led Hydro’s Venture Capital unit, worked in oil and gas M&A and led its International Project Group, completing significant international asset acquisitions and disposals

A core theme throughout his career has been using front edge technical and commercial innovation to create and scale profitable businesses. He has applied those skills both in Ventures, Renwable Energy, and OIl and Gas, with a succesful track recort in each sector
